In December 2000, I went to Florida for Andrea Ziegler's wedding.  I managed a side trip to canoe and camp overnight in the Everglades with Kevin.   We put in at Hells Bay put in and camped overnight at the Lane Bay Chickee.  See the link to the map at the bottom of the page.
